SEBASTIAN ARCE & MARIANA MONTES

Sebastian and Mariana are accomplished tango promoters evidenced by their love and commitment to teaching, their popular tango productions, and their magnificent dancing. Sebastian and Mariana consistently attract a broad and enthusiastic audience to any event in which they participate. They are among the most sought after tango instructors in the world, participating in nearly 40 big scale events in Europe, Asia, North America, and Latin America each year. They headline such renown international tango events as Mantova Tango Festival (IT), Amsterdam Tango Festival Tangomagia (NL), Torino Tango Festival (IT), and the International Tango Congress in Argentina (C.I.T.A).

They have produced and co-produced 13 large-scale tango events in France and the USA: Mephisto Tango Summer Festival 2002-2006, Revirado Tango France 2002-2003, C.I.T.P. 2006-2007, Neo Tango Festival USA 2005-2006, Antipanico USA 2005-2006, and concerts with tango orchestras such as Fernandez Fierro, Orquesta Tipica Imperial, Hyperion Ensemble, Bajofondo Tango Club, Gustavo Santaolalla, Tanghetto, and Electrocutango. Sebastian and Mariana are the choreographers of the show 'Piazzolleando' presented in Italy, Belgium, and England. They directed with Chicho Frumboli Exodo Tangueando, and are working on a new show Ensayando featuring five couples and a tango orchestra.

Sebastian and Mariana developed the teaching methodology (T.M.E. = Tango Multiple Styles) based on the harmony between conscious and unconscious body control applied to movement and non-movement. Their approach marks a change in tango dance philosophy that is detached from the singularity of style and in which the ultimate goal is self expression, the research of one’s dance from the needs created by the student's tango path, increased attention to the non-movement, and the introspection and the contemplation of the dance.

In February 2009, Sebastian was named Academico Honorario Itinerante by the National Academy of Tango in Buenos Aires.

MARIANO “CHICHO” FRUMBOLI & JUANA SEPULVEDA

Chicho has played a leading role in the creative evolution of tango in the last ten years. Undoubtedly due to his extensive artistic and musical background Chicho was capable of seeing tango as more than a dance prefixed by strong popular beliefs. Relating to music differently than his predecessors, he created a unique complicity with the music, a relationship that no other dancer before has been able to establish and which has been inspirational for the new generation of tango dancers. Chicho's theatrical background also influenced tango by adding aesthetics and forms never used before in the dance--that went directly against the well known rules of social tango dance in the past--but which today are used among professionals and amateurs all around the world. Chicho's work, his continuous inquiry, research, quest for originality, and full hearted creativity have been one of the biggest gifts that an artist could have given to any art form.

Juana Sepulveda spans the entire range of expression from an innovative subtlety to a stunning manifestation of power in every movement, matched by her musicality, pure elegance and sensuality. Despite her young age Juana forms a delightfully harmonious partnership with Chicho. Juana is an equal partner both in technical merit and performing skills.
